益子 Mashiko

益子焼き Mashiko Yaki

益子焼はいわゆる御家焼のひとつであり、

1852年大塚啓三郎によって始められた。笠間

の久野窯で修行し、益子の土を用いて瀬戸物
を焼こうとした大塚啓三郎に、藩主大関増昭は

、益子陣屋の裏山のふもと、根古屋に土地を与

えた。生産量は着実に増し、1855年御用窯と
なった。作られたのは主に台所用の雑器であり

、鬼怒川の水運を利用して江戸で販売された。

車利用 ：北に約４１ｋｍ、所要時間は約９０分
　ＫＥＫから４０８号線を北に走り、「田中」交差点を右折、次に「内町下」交差点を左折して１４号線・４１号　線(上大島で４１号線に変わります）を北に進みます。後は道なりに走っていくと益子に着きます。

By Car : Located about 41km north of KEK. Driving time will be around 90minutes.

Driving a car from KEK, toward the north in the 408 line to "Tanaka" intersection , turn right in
　 the 125 line then turn left at “Uchimachi-shita” intersection in the 14 line , The road number is 　 changed from the 14 line to the 41 line at Ue- Ohshima). Arrives at Mashiko when you drive along 　 the road .
