There are several things you should take care (or you should be aware of ) before you come to Japan. Listed below are not all of them but only as much as I can think of.

　You should know that getting visa could take a long time for residents of some countries. (As much as 4 months because it requires many time-consuming processes in between.) You should find out these from the embassy of Japan in your country. Immigration rules change depending on political climate. So, prepare early.

  日本で車を運転する場合は、国際運転免許証か日本の運転免許証が必要
です。1949年のジュネーブ条約協定の加盟国が発行する国際運転免許証を
あなたの国で得てください。有効期間は、入国日から１年間か免許証の有効

期間のいずれか短い期間です。 あなたの国の有効な運転免許証をもとに日

本の免許証を取得できす。 運転免許証の公式翻訳が必要です。　そして、
運転、道路交通法のテスト、および実際の運転免許試験を受けなければなり
ません。

                               

　In order to drive a car in Japan, an International driver's License or a Japanese driver's Licenss is necessary.

If your can get an international driver's license according to Geneva agreement of 1949. The International　Driver's　license　is　valid　in　Japan　for　one　year　from　the　date　of　the　holder's
initial　eｎter to Japan or the date of expiration, which ever comes first. Between the countries Japan has an agreement with., you could obtain a Japanese drivers license if you have a valid driver's license of your country. You need to bring an official translation of the driver's license, and you must go through some test on physical fitness for driving, test on traffic laws and actual driving test sometimes.

   医療費用は、かなり高いです。 あなた自身の国の医療保険による適用範囲は

日本での入院料を支払うために十分かどうかわかりません。 あなたが1年間以

上日本にいる場合、日本の国民健康保険に加入することが義務付けられます。

しかしながら、保険でカバーできるのは、本人の場合は７０％、家族の場合は６０

％です。 あなたが1年以内しか日本にいないなら、日本での任意健康保険に加
入することを勧めます。あなたの国の健康保険適用範囲を使用したいと思うなら

日本の医療費を完全にカバーできるかどうかを確認して来て下さい。

　Cost for medical care is rather high. Coverage by medical insurance in your own country may or may not be sufficient to pay hospital bills in Japan. If you should be staying in Japan for more than one year, you are obligated to join the National Health Insurance Plan under govenment supervision. This insurance, however, covers only up to 70% for the head of household, 60% for the remaining family members. if you can take care of the difference (30% or 40%) in some way, fine. If not, or if you will not be staying in Japan for longer than one year, it is recommendable that you will also enroll in a private health insurance plan in Japan to take cate of the difference. If you want to use health insurance coverage of your country, make sure that it can fully cover the Japanese medical cost.
