Fire 'kaji'

In case of fire, the best thing you can do is ;

You need to break open a plastic cover of the fire alarm button before you can press it. Fire hydrants are located inside and outside of building and have a fire alarm button on it.
    It requires two or more people to operate. One person takes the hose out from the box, then the hose is extetended to the location where the fire started. Another person press the fire button then open the valve.

  3. Call the Information center at ext. 3399 or 029-864-5572 and tell the person 'kaji-desu' which means "fire". Be sure that you are ready to tell the person where the fire is.Tell the guard the name of the building as well as your name. Remain on the phone until the guard confirms that all the pertinent information need for proper action has been obtained.
    When you are outside of KEK, dialing 119 on any phone will connect you to a fire station.

Earthquake 'jishin'

Hide yourself under something solid, such as a desk. Turning off all heat sources such as oven and stoves is important. Rushing out of a building may not be a good idea. Do not use elevators since this could trap you inside. If a fire has started, try to put it out right away, if you can.
Should you happen to be outside when an earthquake hits, stay away from outside walls, areas having large windows and areas having large ceiling expanses. Also stay away from something that might fall on you, such as brick wall and a like.

Medical emergency 'kyubyo'
